Welcome to the Eugene Yacht Club! We’re always glad to meet new people interested in sailing.
The Eugene Yacht Club is one of the Pacific Northwest’s oldest and best-loved yacht clubs. We have been promoting sailing in Oregon and beyond since 1945. We’re located on the shores of Fern Ridge Lake just 12 miles west of downtown Eugene. Our 10-acre facility includes a large clubhouse and deck, lush grounds, wet and dry moorage, showers and laundry facilities and much more.
But enough about the amenities. Let’s answer some common questions.
Don’t know how to sail?
No problem, The Eugene Yacht Club’s annual sail school has been teaching people of all ages and skill levels how to sail for decades. Plus, there’s almost always someone on the docks eager to lend a hand or offer a word of friendly advice.
Don’t own a boat?
We’ve got you covered. The Eugene Yacht Club owns a fleet of sailboats that club members can check out anytime they want.
Worried about the cost?
Don’t be. The Eugene Yacht Club has a variety of affordable options for people interested in sailing.
Afraid you won’t fit into the “yacht club crowd?”
Fear not! This is not a blue blazer and deck shoes kind of place. The Eugene Yacht Club is friendly,welcoming, and decidedly casual (it’s Eugene after all).
Members of your family not interested in sailing?
No worries. The Eugene Yacht Club has plenty to do on shore. We have acres of lush, green lawns; an extensive playground area for kids; a family swim area; a laid-back clubhouse complete with kitchen facilities available for family gatherings; a massive outdoor barbecue; a large fire pit great for making s’mores; showers and laundry facilities; volleyball and basketball, camping space — the list goes on and on. Come take a tour of the club and see for yourself.
Looking for a place for the family to spend the summers?
Look no farther. Families have grown up at the Eugene Yacht Club for generations.
Looking for a place to feed your need for speed?
We’ve got you cover there as well. Fern Ridge Lake hosts sailboat races several times each week. In addition, Fern Ridge is home to major regattas attracting the finest sailors from around the U.S. and beyond. In fact, the lake is regularly selected as the site of class championship regattas.
